Job Summary:

The Regional/District Officer, AFS is responsible for implementing of all AFS interventions related to agricultural sub sectors such as horticulture, cereal crops and vegetable at regional and area levels. The AFS officer will be responsible to technical run the horticulture, crops and vegetable and land development programs with farmers aims to increase the quality production and productivity, through conducting thematic capacity building session through participatory learning approaches like FFS/PTDs and other production technologies.

Duties & Responsibilities:

1. Under the direct supervision of Regional Manager/Coordinator, AFS will make sure the successful implementation of planned activities based on the approved YPO.

2. To conduct technical capacity building trainings for farmers based on project needs at the field level.

3. To make sure beneficiaries of the related project are selecting in the very best manure in consideration of both quality and quantity.

4. To assist AFS M&E officer by provision of regular monitoring data and documentation of success stories on project related activities.

5. To assist Regional Coordinator/ Senior Team AFS in consolidation of monthly and quarterly reports and data management related to the project interventions.

6. To design, implement and monitor different trail/demo plots and proper input distribution, in consultation with Regional Coordinator, AFS & Regional Manager AFS.

7. Conducting technical training about the importance and vital value of food security, food processing, food packaging, and over all post-harvest management.

8. To conduct survey/appraisal with targeted beneficiaries in target area.

9. To conduct feasibility study survey and collect all required data and provide report of the analyzed data to regional coordinator and regional Manger AFS.

 

 

 




 

 

 

 

10. To make sure proper implementation and Follow-up monitoring of cash for work (Land Leveling, Land terracing, Road reparation and Canal rehabilitation) activities in the targeted sites.11. To keep close integration among AKF relevant sectors and strong coordination with DAIL and other stakeholders’ relation to AFS proper implementation and achieving expected impacts.12. To carry out the responsibilities of the role in a way which reflects AKF’s commitment to protecting children in accordance with the Child Safeguarding Policy.

OCCASIONAL SIGNIFICANT DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES

1.   Assist the Regional Coordinator/Senior Team AFS to consolidate program reports and organizing regular field visit.

2.    Considering donor’s indicators, improving livelihood through providing learning opportunity for vulnerable household in target districts.

3.   Perform any other job-related duty assigned by the supervisor.

Job Requirement:

JOB SPECIFICATION

1. University degree BSc from Agricultural Recognized Institution.

2. At least 1 – 3 years Job related post qualification Experience in Management Positions with Other Agencies.

3. Strong Communication, Problem Solving, Team Work, and Management Skills.

4. Good Communication and report writing skills in English and one of the Local Language, Dari or Pashto.

5. Good Computer Skills.

6. Ability to work well with others.
