Job Summary:

To assist the IA management in achieving the objective of Internal Audit Department according to the approved Internal Audit Manual

Duties & Responsibilities:

1. Carrying out assignment on the basis of approved internal audit plan and the instruction of IA management.

2. Applying audit procedures during the engagement to evaluate the control environment and assist IA management to recommended the appropriate control














3. Applying audit procedures and techniques to identify and assess risks and recommend appropriate controls for mitigating the risks4. Identify control gaps and opportunities for improvement during operational review of branches and support departments

5. Arranging for close out meetings before issuance of draft / final audit report along with evidences organized in audit file

6. Prepare timely draft audit reports for review of engagement supervisors.

7. Ensure that the assigned IA engagement is completed on time in consideration of the quality of the audit.

8. Regular reporting of the status of the assignment to engagement supervisor.

9. Assist assignment supervisors in preparing the draft report on the findings of audit.

10. Assist in providing support to the Internal Audit’s day-to-day operations under supervision of IA management.

11. Ensure completeness of the audit files and work papers

12. Assist is housekeeping of records when necessary

13. Execution of any other task assigned by IA management, including administrative affairs of the internal audit department

14. Discussing, editing and clarifying the contents of audit reports under the supervision of the assignment supervisors

15. Execution of any other tasks assigned by the supervisors or head of IA

Job Requirement:


– Bachelor Degree in Banking and Finance or equivalent from an accredited university or pursuing Bachelor degree

– Basic knowledge of Administration, and Statistics

Specialized knowledge

– Must be familiar with the Banking System of Islamic Republic of Afghanistan,

Desirable Professional Certification

Desirable professional qualification (CIA, CISA, CFE)


– Experience: Minimum 2 years of experience in banking.


– Good in communication (written and spoken) to clarify complex information in a way that is easily understood by all

– Problem Solving, Capable of recognizing patters, observe discrepancies, trends, and interrelationship of data, develops practical solutions within the approved parameters,

– Able to identify potential risk areas

– Ability to review and understand complex banking transactions and analyze risks associated with the transaction, processes followed and action taken,

– Knowledge of Audit Principles, Audit Techniques and Approaches.

– Applicant should be familiar in use of IT applications and systems including but not limited to familiarity with Microsoft Office,

– Proven ability to meet stringent deadlines and adapt to changing priorities, operating in a fast-paced and dynamic environment.













– Team player, acts to promote a friendly climate within Internal Audit, good Morale, Conflict resolution, co-operation with peers.
