About MAGNA:


MAGNA is a medical humanitarian organization that has been actively working worldwide and providing humanitarian aid for more than 20 years. Now our projects cover about 15 countries. The largest programs are deployed in Congo (DR), Syria, South Sudan, Iraq, Afghanistan, and Ukraine. We implement our humanitarian aid projects by working directly with the medical institutions and supporting doctors provided direct emergency medical care to patients who need it.

MAGNA operates internationally and provides assistance to children and their families in need, including victims of natural disasters, wars, and conflicts. In the field we maintain doctors and medical staff but also technical and other specialists, providing humanitarian assistance and help to treat children and their families.











MAGNA focusing on Health, Nutrition, and MHPSS projects, primarily aimed at saving lives and alleviating the suffering of those in need. Armed conflicts and unstable political situations have a devastating impact on ordinary people. Consequences, often associated with inadequate local health services, commonly include direct violence, forced displacement, epidemics, famine, and psychological trauma. Providing medical assistance to victims of conflicts and crises is MAGNA workers’ top priority. Alleviating suffering from infectious diseases neglected by local structures is another major area of MAGNA’s focus.

Job Summary:

Defining, coordinating, and monitoring all health and nutrition-related activities in the project area including management of staff, ensuring the quality of care, and analyzing statistics and reports, according to MAGNA protocols in order to provide the most appropriate support for patients.

Duties & Responsibilities:

•        Coordinating, assessing and supervising the proper functioning of the health and nutritional activities (PHC, NUT, MCH, Immunization, etc.), according to MAGNA protocols, standards and procedures and through the correct compilation and analysis of medical data regarding patients’ health conditions.

•        In close collaboration with other medical team members, identifying the needs of health support in the target population and participating in the definition, planning, organization and update of the appropriate MAGNA strategy and the health activities and its budget.  Monitoring and evaluating health support activities.

•        Planning and supervising, in close coordination with the HR department, the associated processes (recruitment, training/induction, briefing/debriefing, evaluation, potential detection, development and internal communication) of the staff under his/her responsibility in order to ensure both the sizing and the amount of knowledge required.

•        Ensuring an efficient pharmacy management and monitoring the rational use of them. Supervising the appropriate use of medical devices and anticipating future needs. Preparing the health and nutritional orders needed to implement the health and nutritional activities under his/her responsibility, and identifying and reporting to the line manager, non-medical support needs (material, infrastructure, transport, etc.)

•         will carry out regular field visits to the area of implementation of the activities to control the quality of the projects as well as their relevance.

•        Coordinating and ensuring that health activities (in and outside health facilities), with the clients are performed with regular follow-up in order to provide the most appropriate treatment for clients with health problems.

•        Mapping and regularly updating the existing health services, including other INGO’s, local NGO’s, community groups and governmental health services, etc. and maintaining good and regular communication and collaboration with other components of the project according to objectives and context. Identifying possible advocacy issues and informing MC and PC before taking any action.

•        Checking all administrative procedures related to patients’ follow-up (individual card filling, registers, paper exit, discharge, transfers …) are carried out correctly and according to MAGNA procedures.

•        Reviewing and developing the technical materials, tools, guidelines and documents, and coordinating and ensuring the implementation of all Health standard protocols and procedures set by MOPH/MAGNA in order to provide the most appropriate treatment for patients.

•       Liaises and conducts outreach with officials and staff of key institutions at regional, provincial and district level on all aspects relevant to MAGNA operations (including support to logistics in liaison with PPHD and customs concerning international procurement)

•       Liaises and maintains close working relationships with variety of stakeholders and other actors relevant to MAGNA health interventions. Pro-actively seeks coordination with partners in the region and on a provincial level, organizes meetings, networks and facilitates referral pathways

•       Undertakes initiatives to develop joint activities with other actors such as assessments, needs analysis, trainings

•       Supports in organization of meetings with institutional actors and other relevant stakeholders

•        Participating in monthly reports according to guidelines (SitRep, statistical report, etc.) and reporting problematic situations and cases with the Medical Coordinator to help with decision making and problem resolution.

Ensuring that patients coming to MAGNA facilities receive proper treatment including psychotropic medication and support either within an MAGNA program or the referral to an appropriate resource.










Job Requirement:

Medical Doctor MD

Perfect knowledge of MoPH policies.

Ability to manage a high workload.

Good interpersonal skills, and motivation for teamwork.

Good IT skills, comfortable with Word/Excel/Access.

3 years experience in the management of health project and previous experience with other NGOs in the field.


Excellent speaking and writing skills in English (significant reporting in English).
