• Summary of Key Functions

The Forman is responsible to participate and assist the field engineer in preparation of community and district level operation plans. S/he is responsible to implement Cash for Work engineering activities and provide technical support to project. S/he in close coordination with community mobilizer and field engineer will try to identify and select the appropriate cash for work labors, project target groups and ensures that project is implementing in accordance to technical specification and standard norms.

Project field supervisor, project officer, project consortium members, project beneficiaries, CARE internal departments

Duties

The construction foreman is responsible for the construction and establishing of muddy reservoirs, trench, retaining wall and canal stone masonry. The person in this position will be a full-time employee. CARE emphasis on labors policy, labor safety and environmental protection etc… this position will have responsibility to ensure labors safety, environmental policy and prohibit children hiring in labors.  

Detailed job duties include:

Receiving and Stocking

• Receives deliveries at the loading dock.
• Checks deliveries against shipment papers.
• Inspects deliveries for damages or discrepancies. Sends them back to the suppliers for replacement.
• Sorts and classifies products accordingly in a manner that makes them easy to obtain once needed.

Inventory and Record-Keeping

• Documents the quantity of the products received, stored, and distributed.
• Copy, print, and e-mail documents as needed, whether to the customers or the suppliers.
• Performs physical counts and maintains inventory records.
• Coordinates with suppliers to refill inventories.
• Accomplishes forms that will facilitate warehouse processes.

Distributing and Shipping

• Transports and distributes items to operation sites and warehouse.
• Prepares lists and labels of items for shipment.
• Collects, prepares, and ships products for shipment.
• Coordinates with couriers and transformation companies for timely shipping.
• Resolves shipment problems.

Informs project staff about shipment delays or other concerns.

Qualification

• Must be able to work in all weather conditions
• Must have the ability and willingness to learn new skills, as well as experience with transportation, couriers and warehouse management.
• Ability to work independently is essential
• Strong communication skills
• Excellent management of labors.

       Skills and Experience:

Education Education: University degree is preferred.

    Languages Skills Fluency in spoken and written Dari, Pashtu and English is Highly Desirable.
