It enjoys consultative status with the Economic and social Council of the United Nations and is a signatory to the Code of Conduct for International Red Cross and red Crescent Moments and NGOs in Disaster Relief. IRA started its humanitarian activities for Afghan Refugees in Pakistan and Afghan people inside Afghanistan in 1992. Since then, IRA continued providing assistances in different fields: Emergency Relief, Agriculture, Health, Education, Engineering and construction, irrigation, and social welfare.

Job Summary:

The Child Protection Programme Officer has the overall responsibility to ensure that quality Protection support delivered at both community-based children, caregivers and adolescent in a timely and efficient manner with the support of the Child Protection Project Coordinator.




Duties & Responsibilities:

The Child Protection Programme Officer has the overall responsibility to ensure that quality Protection support delivered at both community-based children, caregivers and adolescent in a timely and efficient manner with the support of the Child Protection Project Coordinator.

·      Provide technical guidance, on the job training, coaching, and mentoring to the child protection team on child protection and GBV minimum standards.

·      Provide technical guidance, on the job coaching and mentoring to the Child protection team on the principles of child protection, psychosocial support and learning and development principles for children and adults.

·      Ensure that all protection services are implemented meet protection standards

·      Track capacity building needs of each staff member in the protection team and establish capacity building plan.

·      Provide support to the community stakeholders and supervise the meeting with community elders, influential figures and other related group in target community.

·      Conduct trainings for the project and partner staff and build their capacities according to the capacity gaps assessment key findings.

·      Provide child protection mentoring support to the project and partner staff in place and make a plan for their improvement according to the findings of monitoring.

·      Provide technical supervision and support of field staff through regular contact, field visits or meetings.

·      Support to team members in implementing the project activities in coordination with case management officer and case management supervisor.

·      Support Psychosocial counselor and case workers /community mobilizer in preparing training materials and conduct various trainings for children’s groups, parents, employers and community elders.

·      Participate and facilitate informal meetings with assigned communities on a regular basis

·      Initiate community dialogues to expend community awareness/ initiative fund and other child rights violation issues going on in the community.

·      Initiate need assessment to find the exact needs of the community for child protection.

·      Facilitate the distribution of material and toolkits during the project period.

·      To participate and facilitate weekly and monthly meetings with staff to review the Details Implementation Plan (DIP).

·      Compile and generate the training reports conducted in target communities.

·      Perform any other tasks assigned or required.

Job Requirement:

·      Bachelor’s Degree in Social Work, Psychology, Child Development or another related field

·      Excellent knowledge of Child Protection and GBV minimum standards and basic principles.

·      Excellent knowledge of psychosocial support basic principles and PSS key messages to vulnerable children and caregivers.

·      Excellent knowledge of child and adult development and learning.

·      Excellent knowledge of basic facilitation skills.

·      Excellent knowledge of safe identification and referral principles.

·      Good knowledge of GBV and Child Protection case management.

·      Ability to maintain confidentiality, respect, non-discrimination, and safety of client at all the times.

·      Computer Literacy (Microsoft Word, Excel, and PowerPoint).

·      Excellent interpersonal and problem-solving skills, creativity, and flexibility.

·      Comfortable in a multicultural environment, flexible and able to handle pressure well.

·      Flexible working hours availability

·      At least 3 years of experience in international organizations and humanitarian settings, specifically in Child Protection or GBV sectors

·      Experience managing teams

·      Experience providing on the job coaching and mentoring and building capacity of staff

·      Previous experience in Child Protection and/ GBV/ psychosocial support.

·      Good knowledge of English,
