CONSTRUCTION SUPERVISOR IN MAZAR

Job Summary:

Develop and ensure the follow-up of construction complex technical dossiers including architectural and engineering drawings, bill of quantities, terms of reference, tender documents, contract forms, and technical and work specifications for the project according to MSF standards in coordination with the Mission Construction Referent and the Construction Specialist.

Duties & Responsibilities:

– Ensure the compliance of all construction and rehabilitation to the safety standards and requirements according to MSF standards

– Ensure the development of cost estimation/variations, its follow-up, quality control, and implementation for all works as defined by the Construction Referent in coordination with the Front Office Construction Specialist

– Support in the project management/site supervision (cost control, schedule management, quality control, reception of works, standard documents compliance; database update; etc.) through punctual support

– Ensure the definition of quality standards for all construction materials and equipment through the local availability and international ordering for the project

– Support the project management/site supervision (cost control, schedule management, quality control, and others.

SPECIFIC OBJECTIVES

• Design initiation and development, contractor selection, construction, and documents repository: The New Building, or rehabilitation of the existing building, construction is implemented by ensuring that the multidisciplinary design is reviewed and validated and construction works implemented to reach the as-built product.

• Construction Works and Contract Management: The desired performance of the contractors and subcontractors in terms of quality, cost, and time are monitored and met as per the milestones and other contract clauses.

• Reporting: Report of the progress of the activities of the construction project against the predefined chronogram is produced and shared.

Job Requirement:

Education

– University degree in Construction essential

– Diploma in Civil engineering essential

– Proficient user of MS Office (Excel, Word, Outlook) essential

– Proficient user of AutoCAD drawing program essential

Experience

– Essential: Other experience in a similar position

– Essential previous experience in MSF or other INGOs

Languages

– Dari/Pashtu: oral and written essential

– English: oral and written essential

Working hours

– 3 TO 6 MONTHS CONTRACT

– FULL TIME / SCHEDULE: 176 HOURS PER MONTH – DUE TO THE NATURE OF THE POSITION THE CANDIDATE MUST BE WILLING AND CAPABLE TO SOMETIMES WORKING OUTSIDE REGULAR OFFICE HOURS

– SALARY WILL BE PAID ACCORDING TO THE MSF SALARY GRID
