How to Apply for Suriname e-Visa


Who can apply for E-Visa?

Suriname E-Visa facility is available for Nationals of the following countries / territories:

  • Afghanistan
  • Albania
  • Algeria

How to Apply?

Step 1: Provide the Application details and upload the necessary Documents

You can submit your application through the VFS website. The first step of the E-Visa application is to register your account on the website. Provide all the requested information and upload the necessary documents. If you are a minor, it may be necessary to upload additional documents.

Important notes:

  • In this step, you will have to select the country as per the passport that you hold. If you have dual nationality, you must select the nationality of the passport that you will use for your travel.
  • The passport that you use for the application must be the same as that you will use while travelling to Suriname. If different, then your E-Visa will be invalid.
  • Your passport should be valid for at least 6 months from your date of arrival in Suriname. The passport should have at least 1 blank page for use by the Surinamese Immigration Officer.
  • The only travel document that can be used in the E-Visa application process is a valid passport.
  • Each traveler, including infants and children, must obtain an individual E-Visa.
  • During your E-Visa application, make sure that the information provided by you matches exactly with the information on your passport, otherwise your E-Visa will be invalid. Once the E-Visa is processed, the information provided cannot be changed.
  • The E-Visa application has no connection with Surinamese Embassies or Consulates. For any questions or comments, feel free to contact the E-Visa application Support Desk.
    Please note that in order to have a seamless process for your Surinamese E-Visa application, you will need a stable working internet connection. In the event of your connection being unstable, an error message will be prompted for security reasons.

Step 2: Pay the fee online

After providing all the required information, you have to make the fee payment through the Payment gateway. You can pay the fees using a MasterCard, Visa and Maestro credit/debit card. It is not necessary for the card to be under your name. Make sure that your card has “3D Secure System” and is enabled to make international transactions.

Step 3: Download the E-Visa receipt

If the fee payment is successful, you will receive a confirmation code by email. When your application has been approved, you will receive your E-Visa as a .pdf file in your email. Keep a printed version of your E-Visa with you when travelling. We also recommend that you keep a copy of the .pdf file in your mobile phone.

At the Airport

As soon as you arrive in the Republic of Suriname with the approved E-Visa, follow the steps mentioned below:

  • present your passport to the Immigration officer
  • present your E-Visa to the Immigration officer


Fee Payment

After you pay the E-Visa or E-Tourist Card fee, you will receive an e-mail with payment confirmation details along with a reference number and copy of your visa application form.

You can only pay the fees using a MasterCard, Visa and Maestro credit/debit card. It is not necessary for the card to be under your name. Make sure that your card is “3D Secure Card” and is enabled to make international transactions.

The E-Visa or E-Tourist Card fee can be paid only in American Dollars (US$) and Euro (€).

Document Information

If you are applying for the E-Visa, you have to upload the following documents:

  • Passport cover page
  • Passport bio page
  • Copy of flight / travel itinerary (departure and return)
  • Copy of Accommodation Reservation
  • Photograph size 3×4 cm.
  • Letter of Invitation
  • Extract/Certificate of the Chamber of Commerce & Industry ( not older than 6 months)
  • Copy of the ID-card of the guarantor
  • The authorization of the parents/legal guardians of the minor (for minors up to 17 years)
  • Other documents

Photograph Specifications

The photograph to be uploaded must be 3×4 cm in size:

Your visa application photograph must meet certain criteria regarding size and content. Submitting photos that do not meet these criteria can delay the visa application process. If your photo does not meet the requirements, you will have to provide new photographs before your application can be processed.

Processing Time

The processing time of the E-Visa may take up to 72 hours. If your application has exceeded five business days, please contact us.

Public Holidays and Closures

The processing time may take longer during the closures.
